Faculty & staff are invited to show their Husker spirit in an office-decorating competition during Homecoming Week! We encourage individuals or departments to decorate their office doors, cubicles or entry space based on this year's Homecoming theme "Cosmic Cornhuskers." This not only helps your office get in the spirit of Homecoming, but also the students, faculty and staff visiting your offices excited!
Dates
- Submit your registration by September 18 to be a part of the contest. You can decorate without registering, but your office will not be judged as part of the contest.
- Office decorating must be completed by 9:00 am Monday, September 28.
- Judging will take place on Tuesday, September 29.
Rules
- Do not use materials that will damage doors, office walls or lobby areas.
- No nails, tacks or staples may be put into doors and all adhesives must be fully removeable.
- Door handles MUST remain visible and operational. Decorations may not impede the usage of the office or door, compromise ADA compliance, or pose a safety hazard.
Judging Criteria
- There will be 2 categories for decorating and these will be judged with a separate scoring rubric.
- Category 1: Single office door/cubicle
- Category 2: Office Entryway/ Reception Area/ Multiple doors within the space
- Adhere to the Homecoming theme (Cosmic Cornhuskers)
- Originality/Creativity
- Overall appearance and quality of work
Prizes
- Category 1:
1st & 2nd place: Homecoming Swag Pack filled with goodies
Category 2:
1st place: Waffles with Dave! Cooked on site for the staff within their office unit.
2nd place: Breakfast Pastry Tray from UNL Catering
3rd place: Dessert Tray from UNL Catering
